I wanted to find a picture of the logo on a TV screen, but there was not one big enough. I came across this photo on google, I believe this is an event in the Philippines. The one on the right is the old one and the one on the left has my logo. My logo was initially red and white, but I tweaked the colours so that it would match that of the poster. I made it purple so it would go with the anime girl's armour. This wasn't too hard as the background is basically almost one colour, having a steady hand was crucial though, or the shading would look awkward.

A Set for Animax!!!
This is the set of stationary I have created for my logo. Since the main colors of my logo is red and white, I have decided that my whole set of stationary should be the same color. For the business card, it is two sided, the front has all the information and the back has a larger version of the logo. I really like straight lines and have put one in between the information and the logo on the front of the card to act as a divider. So the one who receives it will know where to start looking at first and take a rest. The line idea has followed through my stationary and envelope. There is a red border at the top of the stationary to stay in my set of being red and white, but most of the paper is white. This is so that it is easier for the person to type onto it and the recipients to be able to easily read it. The white line continues on the white part of the paper as red to keep the alignment there. It could act as a guiding line for the reader to continue to read down. The envelope is also red and white, making the envelope red will make it stand out amongst other mail, thus the receiver will first be interested in reading a letter from Animax!!

New Logo? Rebranding of Animax

Animax is finally rebranding? Just kidding, it is not. This is my attempt to give the anime channel, animax, a new logo. I decided to swtich the colour to red and white as anime comes from japan, and these are the colours of the japanese flag. Yet the colour came out to be slightly off, it should be a brighter red. I didnt quite like their original logo, and many people seem to think it looks like a car company. The blue doesnt relate to anime and it doesnt look interesting, I decided to keep a lively and childish feel to the logo, with the nimax looking like scribbly writing, as anime are usually most watched by teens and children. Moreover, the plus sign as the whole of the A is to connect with the idea of max. The old sign was not energetic and a bit dull. There was not much theme and the words seemed boring. Does mine not look much cuter or as the japanese say "KAWAII"

Logo Recreate : Illustration

Rolling stones is one of my favorite magazines, this is the logo of it from a few years back. The one on the left obviously is my recreation using adobe illustrator. I really liked this software, it is really fun to use. I don't find it too different from Adobe Indesign, it was not too hard for me to use. I think I got better with the pen tool and I like it more now. I got frustrated because the points were too small and I kept getting an error signal, if I missed the point by very little. Yet, it was sort of fun

Porter's Girls are Going Green
Miss Porter's School is going green!!! Everyone should take part!!!!
This was such a fun project!! Our group had to go throw trash to find the parts of the poster. We used a flower idea because Miss Porter's s often associated with flowers, yet we failed in trying to make it look like a daisy. There wasn't much to do with using indesign except for whitening the background. We used 2 different methods, due to the different situations. I like the can poster more as there are more different textures. This was a meaningful and fun assignment

Lets go birds watching

Final version of mine |

Initial ugly poster |
I think I have followed repetition the most, as all of my words are in the font of "American Typewriter", some of it are bold while some are just normal. I have also used the same royal blue for the start and the end of the poster, for the title and contact details.
I kept the principle of proximity in mind and grouped the date, time, attire and fee together. I wasn't sure of where I should have put the details of the activity, and with the help of my teacher, that information was put under the title. This decision was based on the fact that the information wasn't as important as the time, date, fee and attire, but would be best to put at the start, so as to give people an idea of what the activity would be like. That is how it ended underneath the title.
When deciding about the alignment, I tried and play around with them. Usually, I would have just chosen the center alignment for the title straight away as that was what I usually do in writing an essay. After learning more about alignment, I have decided to use left alignment for everything, combining the idea of proximity. Although I put the contact details on the right, I have decided that left alignment still looks better than right.
My poster does not really consist of contrast, as most of them are similar, so I didn't do much of contrasting.
The gray words now in the poster, used to be white with blue outline, after experimenting with different color and drop shadows, grey seemed to look the best. Color choices are really important too.
I really enjoyed creating this poster, which is unlike the ones I created in Word before. This software was really fun to use.

Learning About Indesign
These couple of weeks it was all about indesign. I really liked this software and believe the skills I have learnt in it will really come in handy one day.
I had some trouble with the pen tool; it was hard trying to get the exact image I wanted. The curves were particularly hard to create.
Learning to use the frames was very useful; I never knew that they were used like that. It made it so much easier to resize and make the image exactly placed and the size I wanted. The group function was also useful and I had fun with the white arrow.
Another difficulty I faced was that I had trouble selecting the object I wanted. I also seemed to have clicked by a nearby object instead and this shows that perhaps my frames were too big. I need to make them smaller next time, or even just right.
Putting in text was kind of standard but it is indeed useful to be able to place text instead.
I also learnt that the files would be better if they were placed in the same folder, I will keep that in mind next time.
I quite liked this software and look forward to using it more. I believe with practice I will get better at it and for now I think I am doing okay. I needed more time on some parts but I still could do it in the end.
