Learning About Indesign

These couple of weeks it was all about indesign. I really liked this software and believe the skills I have learnt in it will really come in handy one day.
I had some trouble with the pen tool; it was hard trying to get the exact image I wanted. The curves were particularly hard to create.
Learning to use the frames was very useful; I never knew that they were used like that. It made it so much easier to resize and make the image exactly placed and the size I wanted. The group function was also useful and I had fun with the white arrow.
Another difficulty I faced was that I had trouble selecting the object I wanted. I also seemed to have clicked by a nearby object instead and this shows that perhaps my frames were too big. I need to make them smaller next time, or even just right.
Putting in text was kind of standard but it is indeed useful to be able to place text instead.
I also learnt that the files would be better if they were placed in the same folder, I will keep that in mind next time.
I quite liked this software and look forward to using it more. I believe with practice I will get better at it and for now I think I am doing okay. I needed more time on some parts but I still could do it in the end.

My First Time Using Indesign

Today, I ave finally got to use the infamous indesign. It is a very cool software but I dont really see much difference between it and other softwares suc as, Photoshop and PhotoImpact. It was not that complicated for me, but I guess it will be harder to master the skills required. It was fun playing around with the shapes and am looking forward to learn more.

I have always loved the colours of red and white and I think they look really beautiful together. I love that this desighn is very cute and how there is another nike sign on the shoe. I also really like the word slow at the bottom right hand corner. This are not very obvious hints of the message that Nike wants to bring out. Perhaps that they make their shows slowly and carefully?

I Simply Just Love this Poster

Inception is definitely one of my favourite movies this year and the poster is really amazing . I like both of them especially the one with buildings. I think it is really cool how they used the building toms and created the name of the movie. The other one is really cool too, both postrs used blue and cold colours for the buildings which gave a dreamy feeling. The clouds in the first are very beautiful.

I Simply Just Love this Website

http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/home/us/en/zara-sales

I love Zara so much! The clothes are so cute and and the website is so pretty. I have always liked black and white pictures. They are so beautiful and it make everyhing look so much more classy.  This website is really well designed and makes me wanna buy more of their stuff.

I Simply Just Love this Cover

This is one of my favourite covers of TIme magazine. It was the cover for the edition on 5th April, 2010. I love this design alot because it is very colourful and it makes health care look fun. It makes being sick look fun and happy. I also like how the medical equipment are put in away so that they make a shape of the States. This design is really nice and the words are put in a manner that it makes the message clear and that it does not cover the picture.

I like this website a lot because it is very colourful and fun. It is a website made by the Hong Kong government regarding the competition they are holding. The mouse on the website is not really that cute but I love how the background is a picture of the Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. It is also good that despite all the colour there is s everything still remains clear and not messy.

A Little About Me and Me Designing

Hello, I am Jennifer. I do not have much experience in designing, I have helped out at school in designing logos, posters and bulletin boards.  I have also designed costumes for my house's cheer group, one year was military and the other Peter Pan. I did a couple of powerpoint and documents in the past as well. Basically, everything was pretty basic and nothing much.

I have not very creative and it was much easier when a topic or theme was given. For example, designing for my house, things had to associated with green, so naturally military and Peter Pan popped up in my head.  So thats it for now, I will continue later.
